National Fruit Fly Working Group

The Terms of Reference for the National Fruit Fly Working Group are provided below. These outline the scope of the working group's activities.

Under direction of the DQMAWG:

  1. To develop, maintain and review Codes of Practice and Standard Operating Procedures for both Queensland Fruit Fly and Mediterranean Fruit Fly, ensuring these documents remain technically accurate and relevant to their intended purpose.
  2. To develop, maintain and review the Communications Strategy for the Codes of Practice.
  3. To investigate and make recommendations to DQMAWG on options for improved surveillance and management including reduced suspension zones for both Queensland Fruit Fly and Mediterranean Fruit Fly.
  4. To provide a focal point for technical issues relating to fruit fly management at the state and national level.
  5. To develop a task specific work plan for endorsement by DQMAWG and provide a written report of progress against each work plan at each DQMAWG meeting.
