Biosecurity planning provides a mechanism for the grains industry, government and other relevant
stakeholders to assess current biosecurity practices and future biosecurity needs. Biosecurity planning identifies procedures that can be put in place to reduce the chance of pests reaching our borders or
minimise the impact if a pest incursion occurs.
The Grains Industry Biosecurity Plan (IBP) provides a framework for biosecurity risk mitigation measures in the industry.

Grains Biosecurity Officers are located in most states through the Grains Farm Biosecurity Program, which is delivered by Plant Health Australia and funded by growers through the Grains Council of Australia together with the Western Australian, Queensland, Victorian, South Australian and New South Wales state governments and the Cooperative Research Centre for National Plant Biosecurity.
The Grains Biosecurity Officers can provide you with further information on the importance of biosecurity to the grains industry and on how to implement biosecurity best practice on-farm to protect your livelihood from pest threats. Contact details for a Grains Biosecurity Officer in your region can be found here.
Pest specific materials including fact sheets and contingency plans are located on PHA's Pest Information Document Database (PIDD), or through PaDIL's Plant Biosecurity Toolbox.
