The Plant Health Experience Register is an online database of professionals with plant health experience. The register includes contact details, qualifications and specific expertise and experience of Australian and international plant health specialists. The register enables quick and easy identification of relevant expertise, by searching using activities (diagnostic, surveillance or response) or categories (pest, host or discipline).
The benefits of a national register include the capacity to rapidly identify people with appropriate technical skills who could assist in preparedness and response to incursions of plant pests. The register will also facilitate the development of communication networks between plant health professionals, both domestically and internationally.
Populating the database commenced in August 2004 following its launch by Plant Health Australia. The database currently contains more than 250 experienced plant health professionals, mainly from within Australia.
Access to the system, through an internet interface, is restricted to plant health professionals assigned a username and password. To enter or request access to the database, please click here.
PHA encourages experts to register their details on the Plant Health Experience Register.
The database is administered by PHA in close association with the Office of the Chief Plant Protection Officer, DAFF.
